Skilled Visas (Permanent)

  • Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189):
    A permanent visa that does not require sponsorship from a family member or state/territory government.

  • Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190):
    A permanent visa that requires nomination by an Australian State or Territory government.

  • Skilled Regional visa (subclass 887):
    A permanent visa available to those who have lived in a designated regional area of Australia for at least 2 years and worked full-time for 12 months while holding a Skilled Regional Provisional visa.


 

These visas can serve as pathways to Permanent Residency:

  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489):
    A 4-year provisional visa that allows holders to live and work only in designated regions of Australia. To qualify, applicants must be sponsored by an eligible Australian relative residing in a designated area or by a state or territory government.
